Prognosti Network Monitor is freeware with no limitations or nag-screens.

Support

This program is currently supported by email. The program is a new release and has not been tested on all platforms.  Any compatibility problems or bugs should be reported to the author.

Known Issues

Presently, hostnames are only resolved when the application starts up. This results in the program erroneously displaying a 'host unreachable' status message for hosts that could not be resolved when the application loaded. This will be fixed in the next release, which will include better support for DNS error messages. The only workaround is to close the program and restart it again.

This program uses Winsock 1.1 or higher.

Limitations

This software is intended for small home or office networks with up to 20 devices that need monitoring. It is presumed that networks larger than this would require a more sophisticated commercial network monitoring application. While there is no limit enforced on the number of devices monitored, adding more than 20 nodes to the device list could degrade system performance.

Installation Instructions

Download the program setup file and run it. You can configure the program to start when Windows starts by selecting an option in the program configuration dialog.

The setup program requires the Microsoft Installer components, which you probably already have. If your installation fails, you can try downloading the larger version which includes these components.
